HRTV'S INSIDE INFORMATION SEEKS INFORMATION ON SECRETARIAT'S FINAL CROP
HRTV's "Inside Information" series is seeking information on foals from Secretariat's final foal crop, born in 1990. The data - and hopefully interviews -- will be used for a segment of the show to air in October, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the death of the 1973 Triple Crown winner.
"Members of Secretariat's final foal crop would be 19 years old, so it is conceivable that more than a few are still around, either as active broodmares, stallions or retired," said Amy J. Zimmerman, HRTV's Executive Producer. "Unfortunately, The Jockey Club only has records of those who have had live foals in the last year. We are trying to locate as many as possible for our show, including those who might be living out their retirement in someone's backyard."
Secretariat had 45 live foals in his last crop, with 39 making it to the races. Twenty-one of them were winners, with five stakes horses among them. The most accomplished member of his final crop was multiple Grade One winner Tinners Way, who won over $1.7-million. Tinners Way currently stands at Key Ranch in Texas.
